Troy Ave is Brooklyn to the fullest. His name is a testament to that. After all, you don’t just carry the name of one of your city’s most notorious neighborhoods if you aren’t ready to carry that weight (no pun), and torch. Ave can go by his in-rhyme moniker “Mr. Major Without A Deal” these days…

Devin Miles has joined forces with Myspace & Rocksmith Clothing to release his new EP, the aptly titled In Due Time.
Featuring six new tracks from the Pittsburgh native, including his latest street single Wassup, this EP is a prelude to Devin’s full length project dropping this Fall. In addition to mic work from Miles, additional vocals on the project come courtesy of All Star and Christo. Production work is provided by AllStar, I.D. Labs, Kyle Justice, Mr. Carmack and more.

After performing on SNL last night, Kanye’s album went up for pre-sale on his website (it might be down right now) and it’ll be in stores on June 18th. A copy of the album, along with a new red colorway of the Air Yeezy II’s, appeared on Kim’s Instagram last night.
The Prada store on 5th Avenue in NYC was one of the locations where Kanye’s “New Slaves” video debuted, here’s some footage.
According to the video description by uploader Preston Norales:
After 2 no shows. One on 27th & 6th & another a F.I.T. andddddd missing the premiere at Columbus Circle. I met 2 cool dudes waiting at FIT & decided to split the cab fare 3 Ways & made it JUST in time for the last showing. We watched the premiere & was advised to wait 15 minutes for the truck come around. “It would be worth wait we were told” While speculating I asked some folks what they thought was going to happen. The truck pulls around for another encore & we’re expecting Kanye to perform…. The video plays….. It Finishes. And nothing happens…. Kanye was on the corner of 5th Ave…. Watching us as we’re watching him on the wall & gracefully disappears into the city in his Maybach….. EPIC!

According to a report by E! citing “multiple sources”.
Speculation then went into overdrive Tuesday after Beyoncé was forced to cancel her Mrs. Carter Show performance in Antwerp, Belgium, after doctors advised her to rest “as a result of dehydration and exhaustion.”
It makes sense because Bey recently told ABC News that Blue Ivy could use some company and that she was ready to have more children, and when a media savvy artist like Bey makes a statement like that to a reporter, it’s safe to say the bun is already in the oven.
Greetings,
Producers Mr. Compliment and The Anthology partnered up on the first installment of the Sabbath Session Recording series featuring South Florida heavyweight SIN
Produced, recorded and mixed at The Chateau, Margate Florida on Saturday May 11, 2013

The Associated Press reports that Jay-Z and Roc Nation, together with a group of investors that includes Barclay’s Center mastermind Bret Ratner, are budding on a contract to redevelop the decrepit Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. Earlier today, Jay attended a presentation outlining several plans to redevelop the arena and took pictures with county officials, though he did not comment on his involvement with the bid. In 2015 the NHL’s New York Islanders will leave the Coliseum for the newly built Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.

Producer araabMUZIK was reportedly wounded during an incident that occured in his Rhode Island neighborhood last night. A rep for the artist issued a statement to Billboard confirming that he is doing well and currently recovering in the hospital:
“Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well,” AraabMUZIK’s camp said in a statement. “He was out in his neighborhood last night with friends and unfortunately the victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is recovering now and police are investigating the crime. We appreciate all the concern and fan support and Araab is looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to the stage as soon as he can.”
The statement offered no further details about the incident, but a tweet from rapper Avatar Darko suggests he was the victim of a robbery attempt. Whatever happened, that shit is wack.

This is really cool. As of today, the Palmetto Playground in Brooklyn Heights is officially known as the Adam Yauch Park, named after the late MCA of Beastie Boys.
Tomorrow will be the one-year anniversary of his passing.

I guess we knew this was coming. The AP reports that PepsiCo., the parent company of the Mountain Dew brand, has decided to end its promotional relationship with Lil Wayne due to the controversy over his Emmett Till reference on the “Karate Chop (Remix)”.
On Friday, PepsiCo said in a statement that Wayne’s “offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand.” It declined to provide any further comment.
A publicist for Lil Wayne, Sarah Cunningham, said that the split was due to “creative differences” and that it was an amicable parting.
Yeah, I’m sure Wayne was real amicable about potentially losing out on millions.

Lauryn Hill drops off this new track “Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)” as part of her new deal with Sony.
Here is a link to a piece that I was ‘required’ to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline. I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there. In light of Wednesday’s tragic loss (of former label mate Chris Kelly), I am even more pressed to YELL this to a multitude that may not understand the cost of allowing today’s unhealthy paradigms to remain unchecked!

“I am not gay”
On Thursday night, legendary New York DJ and Hot 97 personality Mister Cee, was arrested for the 2nd time in two years for soliciting sex from a prostitute. This morning on Hot 97, he spoke to Ebro, Cipha Sounds, Rosenberg and Kay Foxx about the incident. Although New York media reported that Cee was arrested after soliciting sex from an undercover male police officer posing as a prostitute, Cee claims that the officer was a female and says that she approached him.
You just have to listen for yourself, but if you look at that picture up there you can just feel the tension in that room. Ebro tells Cee straight up that his sexual preference means nothing and that he has an opportunity to stand up and make a statement by just being honest with himself and the public. Cee repeatedly reiterates that he is not gay and suggests that his colleagues and the public have not done the proper “research” into his situation and are therefore misinformed in some way. He insists that the only problem he has is with solicitation of female prostitutes and announces that he is stepping away from the station to seek counseling.
On a slightly lighter note, and you knew this was coming, Charlamagne The God over at rival station Power 105.1 awarded Cee his “Donkey of the Day” award.
